Cool TV Kristen Likes

Non-Exhaustive List of Shows Kristen Likes/Is Looking Forward To.

Not pictured in full: Netflix, reality TV, lots of others (this list is anything but comprehensive)

(Work in Progress; need to update with reality tv + other networks, but whatever you do watch S2 of Australian traitors on Peacock)

Hulu Shows:

Only Murders in the Building (4 seasons so far with 5th to come)

 Martin Short.

The Great: (all episodes available; wrapped)

Very witty show about Katherine the Great. Quite bawdy and a touch surreal.

High Potential (1 season available so far)

Sitcom based off a highly regarded French show about an unlikely crime solver. This show is great. Watch it now.

*Tell Me Lies (all episodes available; two seasons, not sure status)

Some murder-y looking college drama thing. Seems intriguing!

Dr. Odyssey (all episodes available Nov 21; one season, not sure renewal status)

Show about a hot doctor on a luxury cruise ship full of incredibly hot people, at least one of whom is Broadway. Ridiculous and fun and stars Joshua Jackson of Dawson’s Creek fame. Watch it and let’s demand a musical episode.

                  Update: Cancelled. Tragic.

Death and Other Details (all available episodes streaming, one season; wrapped)

Murder mystery aboard a boat Mandy Patinkin is also aboard the boat.

Shogun (season one streaming; S2 coming 2026)

Reboot of the original about 17th century Japan. Very very very good but requires paying attention.

Saint X (season one streaming; not sure re: S2 as story is complete)

Mystery about a college-age girl’s death during a family vacation in the islands. It’s got a Duchovny and an unsatisfying ending.

Fantasy Island (reboot): (all episodes available; two seasons total, wrapped)

Silly fun sci-fi show with a supernatural case a week on a wacky magic island. Super easy popcorn watching type of vibe. Everything wraps up in a nice little tropical bow.

Apple TV + Shows:

The Big Door Prize: (two full seasons streaming)

Whimsical sci-fi show about a weird fortune telling machine wreaking delightful social havoc on a small town.

Cancelled. Sigh.

Sunny (one full season streaming; unsure of S2 status)

Takes place in Japan where a woman and her robot try to solve the mystery of her family’s disappearance

Bad Monkey (one full season streaming; unsure of S2 status)

Vince Vaughn does weird/fun crime-related stuff in Florida.

Severance (two full seasons streaming)

Super weird but intriguing workplace show riddled with mystery and interpersonal goodness. Adam Scott delivers. But like do they ever sleep?

Silo (2 seasons streaming)

They live in a silo in the future. Is it because of lies? Maybe! Update: Sheesh this show is boring.

Paramount + TV Shows:

Ghosts (three full seasons streaming; S4 finale on Dec 5; I suspect renewed)

Based on a British show. Single cam about a couple who runs a haunted hotel. Very witty with a lot of heart—and lots of ghosts. Watch it now.

Evil (two full seasons streaming on Netflix; all four seasons available on Paramount+, wrapped; This is one of my recent fave-y faves.)

Procedural in the vibe of X-Files where a Catholic priest, a shrink, and a tech guy walk into a——determine whether paranormal events are real or not.

Yellow Jackets (two seasons streaming, S3 coming in 2025; also a Stars show if you have Stars)

Compelling drama series about teen girls surviving in the woods after a plane crash; flashes forward to adult survivors. Much trauma and intrigue.

Frasier (reboot) (season one complete; S2 finale Nov 14)

Classic sitcom, manages to maintain OG-style humor, a touch silly but v. watchable if you’re in the mood for a multi-cam.

Peacock Shows:

Hysteria! (one full season streaming; unsure of S2 status)

Satanic panic show with Julie Bowen trying to figure out if it’s devil stuff or not devil stuff.

Wolf Like Me (two full seasons streaming; unsure of S3 status)

Well, Josh all the Gads! This werewolf show rocks.

Mrs. Davis (one full season streaming; unsure of S2 status)

A nun v. AI. Very funny, very smart, very irreverent, very unexpected, like really the twist(s) is (are) wild.

Poker Face (three seasons streaming)

Mysteries solved in odd ways (Natasha Lyonne can tell when someone is lying). Intriguing, odd, fun!

*Teacup (season one streaming; unsure of S2 status)

Paranormal things happen on a farm! There are people in masks! Or are they people?!

Killing It (two full seasons streaming; unsure of S3 status)

Yep, they really made a tv show based on the Florida python hunt, which is, yep, a real thing. Down on their luck, an unlikely pair hunts snakes4cash.

Ted (one full season streaming; S2 announced)

A show based on the movie about the kid who can talk to his stuffed animal bear who is also Seth McFarlane. Hilarious + heart.

Jackal (full S1 streaming)

Spy stuff and hella cinematic action plus a great soundtrack that reminds me how amazing Radiohead is.

Prime Video Shows:

Fallout (one full season streaming; McCaulay Culkin is confirmed for S2)

Really solid, kinda gory video game adaptation and you don’t need to know anything about the video game other than: ZOMBIES! It has a fun, unusual vibe.

The Boys (a few seasons, I am too lazy to look it up)

Super violent and sometimes quite disturbing show that is basically Marvel if the MCU was real, superheroes worked for the gov’t, and it was happening right now. A touch triggering re: Tr*mpin*ss though, sigh, truth-stranger-than-fiction-style.

HBO Max Shows:

The Last of Us

Incredibly solid zombie show about a dude trying to get a teen to the CDC or something to cure a zombie outbreak caused by mushrooms. Shroombies (not what they call them) make Walking Dead zombies look like Scooby Doo zombies.

Humans vs. Hamsters (S1 streaming; by the gods, let this one have the legs of Masked Singer and go beyond the Milky Way’s inevitable crash with Andromeda)

Game show where people compete against hamsters on obstacle course, once of which is smaller than the other. Sarah Sherman is a national treasure. Note: Saving the Christmas episode for the holiday season.

Disney + Shows:

Renegade Nell

Super great.

Time Bandits

LOVED IT WTF WHY IS IT CANCELLED. FIRST WILLOW NOW THIS COME ON.

*The Bear

*Have not seen yet but looks interesting
